It is June 6, 1944. My name is Ryan and today is D-day, and it felt eerie, it was very strange. I felt this way because I was the captain of my squad. We cramped in a boat trying to get to
We ran up to the barbed wire fence. It was small enough to walk over but we were being shot at so we stayed down. I yelled “Move up.” so we did. Then I saw the rest of my company die all at once. One died with a faulty grenade. The other 2 were shot trying to move forward. The last one was shot in the head by a German. I ran to the other captains that lost their squad. Their names were Daniel and Dan.
We moved up with a company filled with about 20 men. We moved up to where they were shooting from. We took out Germans left and right. The rest of the soldiers on the beach took out the bunkers with turrents.
After we took the bunker out we all moved up. We took out the other Germans. In no time we took over the beach and the hill. We took a break and geared up. We waited there for the reinforcements came. It took about 4 hours for them to show up. We all felt eerie of what lies ahead of us. Every where I look it makes me bias seeing these people cry and it makes me think they’re weak. It is also making Daniel crazy.
When we were waiting, we were talking about who we admired. I said I adulate my dad who was in the military. They said that they adulate my bravery. They didn’t say, but I was happy.
The reinforcements came and we got are orders. Are orders were to go deeper into
We then had to walk through a mine field. One of the privates stepped on one and stayed. One of our bomb pros with a subtle touch helped him escape the mine. We were done then we went deeper into
After we were done we were ambushed by Germans. They came and took all of our weapons. They made us dig holes for our own death then right when the first shot was about to go off, we heard explosions. It was our planes. It had bombed the city and scared the Germans from there. we were saved. This was my story of my experience in WWII.
